Major Weather: The summer is starting to show signs of being one of the worst yet, with temperatures already climbing and the water beginning to dry up in the furthest reaches of the South.
Magic. Twisted beyond recognition, it set fire to the world thousands of years ago ... then returned, echoing across time itself to revisit the same devastation of the original Cataclysm. Heroes gathered to stop it, releasing a powerful Counter Storm to negate the effects of the original; and it worked, at a price. Now magic is dispersed across the world like a fine mist, hardly useful at all, if you are an ambitious mage.
All except for Valdemar, of course... that land of the sickeningly sweet and ever-so just Heralds and their Companions. They lived for hundreds of years without magic, and now magic appears to be pooling there faster than anywhere else! It just isn't fair, is it?
