Both a blessing and a danger, Hope River is a major source of water in the south - for both horses and predators. It's incredibly dangerous to stay by the water for long, especially alone. The Hope River herd often takes in the surrounding herds for short periods of time in major droughts, but they have to be careful not to do so for too long - the river often slows to a creek, and the grazing dries up quickly with too much pressure.
