Season: Summer Year: One
Major Weather: The summer is starting to show signs of being one of the worst yet, with temperatures already climbing and the water beginning to dry up in the furthest reaches of the South.
Wild flowers adorned the meadows soft grasses, each one connected by their rhythmic wind dances. Yavi loved seeing new things, she was quite curious and would inspect each individual wonder down to minuscule details. The mare trotted around, the bangs of her hair swishing with the thrum of her hooves. The day was good and bright, Yavi was especially pleased with the weather. The atmosphere in the meadow was wildly brilliant and jubilant, or maybe these vibes just came from Yavi’ herself. She didn’t know which, but it didn’t matter; she welcomed it whole heartedly. It could be the fact that the space was so huge and beautiful, there was no one else around. No fear or embarrassment, or fear of rejection.
She mare stopped, bending down to eat some of the lush grasses. She took a deep breathe before settling herself onto the ground completely. Yavi laid in the greenery, enjoying the smells and sights.
It’s very beautiful here. I think I’d like to stay for a while.
The stories which her mother her of the Northerners stuck with the golden woman for years, stuck with her now as she found herself walking up a path not-traveled towards the mountain range. From what she knew they came from a land of plenty while they were stuck with the drought-ruined dirt. Surely these well-off soft-foots could afford to share, couldn't they? They might not want to share but since when was she ever good at asking? They didn't deserve the courtesy.
As quiet as she could the mare traveled up the mountains, over rocks and back down them again as she simultaneously tried to keep an ear out for any intruders. So far it seemed as if she was being let off by the fates as no one came to investigate. Her intrusion was uncontested and she thanked her lucky stars that she wouldn't be forced to attempt running back down the treacherous way in which she came. So far, so good.
This was the first time that she was seeing the Northern territories and she was quite blown away by it. Green everywhere. Nothing like the bland browns and yellows of her own home, this place was so fertile and abundant in resources.
It wasn't fair. Why were they stuck down where food was scarce and predators plenty while their Northern cousins had everything they wanted at their disposal? It was sickening.
Mother was right... She thought to herself wryly as she carefully picked her way forward, across a grassy field. There would be the perfect spot to graze elsewhere but not in this open field, not where someone could spot her right away. She had to move before...
Before someone ended up being in her line of sight. There she could see a mare lying down, gray in coloration and she appeared absolutely blissful in her surroundings. No matter how much she looked like a pushover, she had to go around without attracting any attention. With her head and neck level with her withers she began to pick her way by, going the long way and stepping carefully as not to overturn anything or get herself caught. The fates had lead her here without any incident... Hopefully they would watch her and still keep her out of sight as she attempted to be stealthy.
I Speak! I think...

The mare sat idly in the peaceful meadow, her eyes closed only with her thoughts to keeping her company. Yavi began delving into a haze, remembering everything she possibly could about her life; all the details, the earnest hopes and regrets. Critical times she should have taken chances; particularly putting herself down for not taking them in the first place. She stopped, taking a deep breath and reminded herself of where she was presently, and how comforting it was.
Okay. Time to stop, no need to put yourself down. You’ve come far!
Yavi collected herself mentally before returning to the dreamy field of green.
Balmy breezes caressed the meadow gently, sending down the smell of flora, trees, and- .
Yavi opened her eyes, rising as quickly as she could to her hooves. A snort erupted from her snout as she whisked her long tail behind her. Yavi turned to scan the rest of the mountain and tree line, facing away from the rest of the meadow. She inhaled, whipping herself around. Yavi wasn’t one to continuously worry about predators, however in this moment; she was concerned. The smell was vaguely familiar, yet unknown - and the unknown could potentially be dangerous. Hot blood coursed through her, and jitters wove throughout her.
Yavi trotted; almost in a strut like fashion, each foot clambering hard against the lush surface.
Where are you?? What are you?
She paced in place, the tingling of fear creeping onto her back.
There!
Picking their way carefully across the meadow was another horse, a large one at that. A bit bigger than Yavi herself, and she thought she was large horse! The mare twitched, slightly unnerved. She was rarely one to approach in an assertive manner, but Yavi was on guard. The strangers sneaky behavior struck her as strange, and Yavi was caught at such a vulnerable, and quite embarrassing time.
Yavi took a couple of steps in their direction, staring directly at them.
