She'd never, ever grow used to the beauty of the river. She'd been born in the Barrens, after all, and to her this was a luxury beyond luxury - even if it was dangerous to do what she was doing now, standing in knee-deep water and letting the current tug at her as it meandered South. There were predators around, she knew - the tracks that deeply scored her haunches were a testament to that knowledge, darkly marring the silvery sheen of her coat. She struck at the water with a foreleg, splashing it onto her belly, never tiring of the cool feeling of it against her skin. She hummed in pleasure, thinking not for the first time that she wished her mother could see this.

There was a rustling in the bushes, warning her that she'd overstayed her welcome. It was stupid to be out there alone and without protection, she knew that. Even in the herd lands there was plenty of danger. Snorting her annoyance, she trotted from the water, shying away from the area she'd heard the movement and picking her way carefully from the rocky shoreline and into the thicker grasses.

It didn't take long for her to find the herd's lead - there were only the two of them at the moment, after all, and he was so overprotective. She grinned wryly as she made her way to him, still dripping from the river. You look like you've got a branch up your ass, Xar. Who's twisted it this time? He wasn't a bad sort, really he wasn't, but he did tend to get wrapped up in drama fairly regularly. As far as she could tell, the quarrel between Faded Shadows and Tratoris was a simple pissing match between leads that didn't get along, and she wasn't shy in pointing it out, but it did little to change anything. Not that she necessarily wanted it to... the way the North handled themselves was completely against her moral code, after all.
