Season: Summer Year: One
Major Weather: The summer is starting to show signs of being one of the worst yet, with temperatures already climbing and the water beginning to dry up in the furthest reaches of the South.
Her appearance is almost stallion-like with her stocky build; her back has a graceful slope joined with a point of high-set withers along with long, powerful legs. At the bottom of her legs, large and solid white hooves steady her on the surface. They could easily land a dangerous blow if caught in a full kick. Dangling around these stone weapons are long white feathers, which are usually dirty. Her coat often has a healthy coating of dirt on it, but when it is clean, it reflects the reddish-brown colors leaves have during the fall. All four of her legs are stained with with marbling towards the top, a streak of white is apparent on her belly as well. The final touch of white is on her face, serving as an eye-catching blaze. Her nose is pink and can get sunburned easily, should she not be careful of her sun exposure levels. Her eyes are often soft and kind, though they are a brown so dark that one may mistake them for black if caught in bad lighting. In reality, her eyes can be pools of honey during the golden hour. Her mane and tail are at a medium length and are both black with faint streaks of reddish brown mixed in. Small hairs of white are on her tail due to her Sabino traits.
personality
Although her stature is terrifying because of her sheer size, Hugo is a big sweetheart. She enjoys the little things in life, like watching the sunsets and sunrises, splashing around in some rivers, even finding the best patches of grass to nibble on -- to her, it's these little moments that make life worth living. Hugo is a really supportive friend who does her best to help out, she's a shoulder to cry on, a set of ears to be heard from, and a giving soul who would do anything to keep her loved ones happy. While she tried to keep a positive outlook on life, Hugo does struggle with her own problems. She often internalizes what she feels in fear of being overbearing to her friends, which cause problems during the night where sleep is no longer a carefree task but instead a challenge. She worries about her friends too much, worried that she'll somehow drive them away by being too annoying or too cheerful or even not supportive enough. Self-confidence is definitely a problem. While she tends to be a pacifist and turn away from conflict, that does not mean Hugo will protect herself and others if need be. She's not skilled in being able to talkback to others, she often has problems getting the words out without stuttering. But when it comes to action, you better be ready to catch some hoof, because she has pretty good aim with her cannons which she calls feet. As long as you don't get on her bad side, she's a great friend to have.
history
Hugo was born to a rather young couple out in an open plain. Her parents were very much so in love but unprepared for raising a child. Hugo was by no means a handful, but when it came to the unexperienced, everything was overwhelming. Thankfully, Hugo was never a victim of being lashed at for just existing, although she did feel the pressures and stress of her parents from time to time. The family were on their own, and perhaps that was why the parents were so worried. With only 2 sets of eyes watching out for their foal instead of 6 or 8, it was no wonder the parents were worried all the time. Social interaction was limited due to her parents' nature of being overprotective, any potential friends were often chased off. Hugo often made up imaginary friends to talk to, and sometimes in her dreams, she can still talk with them. As Hugo grew older, she began to realize that there was more to life than simply worrying about when a problem was going to arise. It wasn't a good way to live nor a good way to die, and she sure as heck wasn't going to live a life she regretted and feared. It took several weeks to find the guts to tell her parents that she was going to venture off on her own. Arguing broke out between the 3 of them, but it was soon ended. Hugo had made up her mind and she refused to turn her back on it. The conversation died down, promises were made to see each other soon, and embraces that felt like they lasted a lifetime were executed.
She missed her parents, but Hugo knew she was meant to do something greater than worry all the time. So from that point on, she left to go and do things her own way.
