Season: Summer Year: One
Major Weather: The summer is starting to show signs of being one of the worst yet, with temperatures already climbing and the water beginning to dry up in the furthest reaches of the South.
Name: Cordelia Gender: Female Species: Horse Age: Five Height: 15.2HH Body Type: Warmblood Coat Color/Markings: Black Tovero Mane/Tail Color: Black mane, black and white tail Eye Color: Blue Scars: Missing left ear (despite being pictured in her reference, it is gone) Physical/Mental Abnormalities: Despite missing her left ear, she can still hear fairly well out of it, meaning she is a healthy young mare.
Cordelia is a fairly small mare, standing at fifteen point two hands she also sports a thinner frame. Taking on the frame of a typical warmblood, she tends to be quicker on her feet, able to change directs on a dime and fit into smaller areas easily. While she isn't exactly tiny, she isn't large either and is usually over-looked because she has that aura about her; an ability to kind of just blend in or not exactly stand out. Maybe it's due to her quiet nature or the fact that she's not exactly all that remarkable, not that it bothers her. She has enough muscle to hold her own, even to the point that it is visible when she flexes but if she is relaxed she doesn't seem to have much muscle. This is mostly due to the fact that Cordelia is not a fighter by any means. She was born to be more of a runner and she's pretty much lived up to that, seeing as her muscles are more streamlined, more suited to long sprints than actual fighting. Her skin isn't exactly battle worn and has very few scars, if any at all. Most unnoticeable unless you're really looking for them. The one 'scar' that truly points itself out is the fact that Cordelia is missing her entire left ear, though she can still hear out of it, it makes for a wonky appearance. As for her coat itself, it's a very nonstriking and plane black tovero pattern with a black mane and black and white tail to compliment her markings, however this makes her bright blue eyes stand out easily.
personality
Cordelia is mostly described as an idealist. She's the kind of mare that believes there is good in everyone, even going so far as showing this attitude towards those of a truly cruel nature. Some might describe her as having no real survival instincts and a bit of an air head, willing to put her life on the line for her beliefs. Curiosity seems to be her biggest driving factor, wanting to know what makes others of all kinds tick. Why do others act the way they do? She lives for knowledge, though most times she doesn't use the knowledge she's obtained because she doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body. She's never been one to actually defend herself from the attacks of others and tends to be kind of a push-over. She holds no one accountable for anything and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, even if they've hurt her in the past. She just can't seem to hold any form of a grudge; nor can she seem to bring herself to hate. Despite being overly-kind, Cordelia is also highly entertained by even the smallest thing. The smallest thing gets her attention adn she willfully chases after it. She lives in her own mind, a wonderland that hides her from the true cruelty of the world. She gets overzealous about the smallest of things and takes no notice if she annoys others. While she is very ditzy, Cor isn't stupid. She has an above average intelligence and can figure out puzzles easily, the hard part is getting her to pay attention. Over all, she would never harm a fly, even if her loved ones were in trouble, simple because she wouldn't even know how to fight or defend even herself.
history
While it isn't widely known knowledge, Cordelia isn't exactly who she seems. A pretty young mare that was born into the Southern herds, but by chance or fate, ended up living in the Northern lands. It was only after her mother was killed, shortly after giving birth to her and far away from her own herd, that a mare from the Northern herds moved in to adopt her. It was after much debate and defending that the mare was granted the ability to keep Cordelia as her own, despite the fact that they looked nothing alike. Still, her adoptive mother, Korra, loved her very much. Maybe Korra wanted Cordelia to eventually find out where she came from, for she did not breed hate for Southerners into the young paint, perhaps in a hope that she'd find where she truly belonged in the future. But it seemed this would be something that her adopted daughter would need to figure out on her own. One of the stipulations was that Cordelia must never be told of her true home, and believe that the mountainous lands of the North were her home. If by some chance, later down the road, she figured out she was from the Southern lands, so be it. That being said, life within the Northern people was not exactly easy for those that knew of her heritage.
Being of a kind nature, it was very easy for Cordelia to be picked on and bullied by the older foals. There wasn't a day that went by and she wasn't coming home to Korra with a new bruise or some form of injury. It didn't help that the young mare never fought back, not even in the slightest. Sometimes her mother would protect her and other times she was left to her own devices. However, nothing seemed to dampen her spirit, not even when a much older colt, a cruel one at that, ripped off her left ear. It was only after this that the bullies decided to leave her alone, and when she truly began to thrive. She's lived a much happier life as she grew older, but isn't deaf to the whispers that continue within her herd at times. As she crests the age of five, her mother has died in a cougar attack, and it seems she's being pushed away from those she saw as family and the youngster aims to figure out why.
