Major Weather: The summer is starting to show signs of being one of the worst yet, with temperatures already climbing and the water beginning to dry up in the furthest reaches of the South.
Hello, my name is Skylar. I'm a young woman who currently resides in Amsterdam. I moved to Amsterdam about one year ago from the U.S.A. I'm originally from California. I started roleplaying as young as 11 and it has really had a positive affect on my life growing up. To be completely honest, I haven't role-played in a while due to some emotional turmoil, but I'm starting to get back into it. Please excuse any strange English mistakes I might have in my posts or chats. I'm learning Dutch and I live in a place where English is spoken at a mediocre level. After a while you start to confuse words! I've been hearing a lot of broken English and have become rather accustomed to it.
My interests and hobbies are digital art, singing, uh sleeping, spending time with my boyfriend, wiring, and browsing the internet. I spend a lot of time online and have been since I was a child. For example, currently as I'm writing this it's 3:50AM and I'm just typing away. Over the years the internet has been a large escape and safe place for me. I was raised in a very abusive home and I have Aspergers, depression, extreme anxiety, and panic disorder. As I've lived in Amsterdam all of these things has improved greatly! I can proudly declare that I actually have a self -esteem! (I know it sounds depressing, but I'm actually proud. It took a really long time to build one. I was completely drowning in depression.)
I'm very passionate about all animals and I invest a lot of my time learning about them. All kinds of them! I really want to travel and work on an animal rescue team one day, but I haven't had the chance yet. I don't have any pets right now, but I used to have a Shi-Tsu named Sophie. She lives in the U.S.A with my family.
Right now one of my favorite foods are these small lemon butter cookies, my favorite color is probably black and purple, and my favorite animal is a wolf. (It's literally been my favorite animal since I was about 6 or 7. Apparently the story goes that I was sitting with my dad and I saw a picture of one. From that dayforward it was my favorite animal.)
As for what I look like, I'm "5,4" (I wish I was four inches taller ) I have long light brown hair, blue eyes, and I'm rather pale.
Moving to another country has made it quite difficult to make friends, and after a year of not making even one close friend I've been kind of lonely in that sense. I guess? I love my boyfriend, but I also want friendship. (I hope I don't sound like a weirdo oh God.) Anyway, if anyone ever wants to talk about anything or needs someone to vent to, I'm always here!
