Lord; The lead stallion, ruler of the lands. His word is law and he is responsible for the protection of his herd. Lady; The mate of the lord, mother of heirs and responsible for helping to maintain order amongst the lower members of the herd. Heirs; Foals of the lord and lady, being raised to potentially rule. Duke; The second in command, a stallion who does not pose a threat to the lord and often regarded as a friend. He serves as an advisor and takes the lead should the lord be absent. Responsible for training warriors. Duchess; The mate of the duke and a highly respected mare, the duchess serves as a friend to the lady and is responsible for the selection of the hoofmaidens. Hoofmaidens; Highly respected mares who see to the lady and duchess, ensuring they have comfort. They also help with birthing and caring for the heirs. Warriors; These skilled fighters train with the lord and duke and are responsible for defending the herd, and for leading attacks should the need arise. Healer; A single equine responsible for caring for any healing needs in the herd. Citizens; The average members of the herd, these make up the bulk of the numbers. They may progress to ranked members in time. Foals; The offspring of herd members, or orphans taken in. They are young and their only responsibility is to stay safe and have fun. Tolerated; Bachelors and loners tolerated in the lands as long as they continue to contribute to the herd somehow. Exiled; Whatever they did, it must have been bad. These horses are not tolerated in these lands and will be attacked on sight.
