The southernmost of the norther territories, this land encompasses the southern base of the mountains and the shallow river that is fed by the lake. Here, the river still flows all year round. As it flows further south, it slows to a trickle or dries up completely some parts of the year. True to it's name, much of this area becomes flooded in the spring.
